Supportive Televisiting Services
~~Supportive Televisiting Services Program Brochure
Dr. Corigliano consults on a Supportive Televisiting Services Program that brings together children and teenagers with their incarcerated parent through the use of Telepresence.
The Social Service Board at the New York Society for Ethical Culture (NYSEC) collaborates with the New York City Department of Corrections to host an innovative Supportive Televisiting Program that enables children to video-visit with their incarcerated parent on a television screen using secure, live audio/video. The NYSEC provides a child-friendly televisiting room conveniently located on Central Park West and 64th Street in Manhattan.
Televisits empower children with the opportunity to spend meaningful time with their parent. Televisits empower parents to engage their children in an active and consistent way with support from a trained televisiting specialist. Televisiting provides opportunities to: •Reassure and comfort children during separation due to parental incarceration. •Strengthen and maintain a healthy parent-child relationship. •Read together, play games, & create art. •Celebrate special moments and milestones with their children.
